There are two main benefits to identifying the species of wood present in a building that is the subject of inspection and diagnostic actions. On the one hand, it allows us to characterise the type of wood used in the building, from among the several that are used in structures around Portugal, and on the other, it enables us to understand the likely construction history of a structure.
