Sclerometer tests are non-destructive tests that allow the quality of concrete to be evaluated.

The Schmidt sclerometer allows the surface hardness of the concrete to be measured from the indentation of an incident mass after its collision with the surface.

This indentation is then converted into a compressive strength value using abacuses.

The test must be carried out on homogeneous concrete surfaces, with the carbonated surface layer removed by scraping.
