NCREP developed the Peniche Walls Rehabilitation Project, which had as its main objectives the constructional characterisation, identification, study and diagnosis of anomalies affecting the elements under study, through an integrated survey of its state of conservation.

It also aimed to develop guiding principles for the intervention to be carried out, according to the ethical standards in force for cultural heritage, and in the presentation of an appropriate methodology that promoted the conservation of architectural heritage, preserving and valuing its architectural, constructional and structural qualities.
