The Lello Bookstore, an iconic century-old building in the city of Porto, was the subject of inspection, diagnosis and recommendation of intervention measures. The objects of the study and targets of the intervention included the floors, the imposing central staircase and the crafted ceilings, as well as the roof and the support structure of the stained glass centrepiece.

Various items of equipment were used for the collection of all the information necessary for the assessment of the state of conservation and structural safety, including the Resistograph® and videoscope. In the end, the intervention allowed the building to be maintained to the fullest in its original condition.
