NCREP was hired to assess the structural safety and conservation state and develop the structural intervention and seismic reinforcement project of the D. Dinis Municipal Library located at Odivelas.

In a first phase, a structural inspection and diagnosis work was carried out, which involved: (i) the analysis of the existing technical elements; (ii) a visual inspection of the building; (iii) the survey and characterization of the structural elements; (iv) carrying out observation windows and in-situ and laboratory tests for the constructive and mechanical characterization of the structure and, based on the information gathered, (v) carrying out a safety check of the existing structure for the program to be implemented.

The structural inspection and diagnosis work allowed the development of an intervention project and seismic reinforcement integrated into the existing building, which sought to minimize the impact on the construction elements.
