NCREP participated in the inspection and structural diagnosis of the Fort of São Miguel Arcanjo at Nazaré, preparing a Preliminary Report in response to the questions of Decree-Law No. 140/2009 of 15 June, for submission to the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage (DGPC).

The Fort of São Miguel Arcanjo, also known as the Fort of Nazaré, is located on the hill at Pederneira, a district in the village of Nazaré. Its construction dates back to the 16th century. It underwent refurbishment in the 17th century and currently receives many visitors due to the surfing events.
