João Miranda Guedes

João Miranda Guedes holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) in the area of seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete structures. 

He is a member of the general meeting of APRUPP (the Portuguese Association for Urban Rehabilitation and Heritage Protection), as well as a founding partner and manager of NCREP. He has worked in the field of rehabilitation of built stock since 2000 and collaborates with the Instituto da Construção (IC) and the Laboratório de Engenharia Sísmica e Estrutural (LESE) of FEUP. He was part of the pre-normative research group of EC8, part 2 – Bridges, as a fellow of the CE.

He is an adjunct lecturer in the Structures section of the Department of Civil Engineering of FEUP, having previously worked as a lecturer in other universities and having also performed technical functions in design offices. 

He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications and technical reports and has co-organized national conferences on built heritage rehabilitation in partnership with the Ex-DGEMN and IGESPAR.
