
João Doutel
João Doutel obtained a master’s in Civil Engineering from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, where his thesis topic was “Study of structural solutions for rehabilitation of stone masonry buildings”.
He began his professional career in 2009 at SOPSEC, S.A., where he was a part of several projects involving new structures, as well as the structural rehabilitation of existing buildings.
In 2012 he joined the German company Kottmann, GmbH, where he developed structural solutions for large industrial installations.
He has been a structural engineer at NCREP since 2017 and has developed projects involving the inspection, diagnostics, structural analysis and design of rehabilitation and strengthening solutions for old buildings, namely the Quinta da Aveleda oenotourism building, the roof of the Arabian Room of the Palácio da Bolsa and the chapel of the Palácio Nacional de Sintra, as well as various multi-family dwellings in Porto and Lisbon city centres.
