Alexandre Costa

Alexandre Costa (Porto, 1982) obtained the Civil Engineering degree at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP), the M.Sc. on Earthquake Engineering at the

European School for Advanced Studies in Reduction of Seismic Risk (ROSESchool, Pavia, Italy) and Ph.D. on Civil Engineering by FEUP. Works since 2006 in the rehabilitation of heritage area, being co-founder of NCREP. In this period he participated in several projects and studies of inspection, diagnosis, structural analysis and design of rehabilitation solutions and structural reinforcement of existing building.

He is author and co-author of several publications in the field of earthquake engineering and rehabilitation of structures in proceedings of conferences and seminars, as well as in international journals of reference. Is collaborator of the Seismic and Structural Engineering Laboratory (LESE) since 2003, being responsible for the development and implementation of monitoring systems in existing structures. Is Invited Professor in the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP) and member of the Portuguese Society for Earthquake Engineering (SPES).

Bruno Quelhas

Bruno Quelhas (Porto, 1982) obtained the Civil Engineering degree and the M.Sc. degree on Civil Engineering Structures at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP), and Ph.D. on Structural Rehabilitation of Historical and Modern Buildings, the University of Padua (UNIPD, Padua, Italy).

He collaborated for more than one year with the Italian Civil Protection, Italian Fireman Corporation and the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage (MiBAC) on the management and implementation of the post-seismic emergency activities for Cultural Heritage on the region of Abruzzo (Italy), after the April 2009 earthquake. Works since 2005 in the area of heritage rehabilitation, being co-founder of NCREP. In this period he participated in several projects and studies of inspection, diagnosis, structural analysis and design of rehabilitation solutions and structural reinforcement of existing building.

As a result of the work carried out, has several publications in the field of earthquake engineering and rehabilitation of masonry structures in proceedings of conferences and seminars, as well as in international journals of reference.

João Miranda Guedes

João Miranda Guedes (Moçambique, 1966) obtained the Civil Engineering degree and Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in the in the field of seismic behavior of concrete structures. Is a board member of the Portuguese Association for Urban Rehabilitation and Heritage Protection (APRUPP) and co-founder and managing partner of NCREP. Works in the rehabilitation of heritage area since 2000, having collaborated with the Construction Institute (IC) and with the Seismic and Structural Engineering Laboratory (LESE) of FEUP.

Since 2000 is Auxiliary Professor at the Structural Division of the Civil Engineering Department of FEUP. Before, he assumed similar functions at other private and public universities and technical functions at design offices.

He is also author and co-author of innumerous scientific papers and technical reports and co-organized conferences on intervention and rehabilitation of built heritage together with the Ex-DGEMN and the IGESPAR in Portugal.

Tiago Ilharco

Tiago Iharco (Porto, 1979) obtained the Civil Engineering degree and the M.Sc. degree on Built Heritage Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP) and frequented the “13th International Course on Wood Conservation Technology”, organized by the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), Oslo, Norway.

Founding partner and member of the Board of Directors of APRUPP – Portuguese Association for Urban Rehabilitation and Heritage Protection, works since 2005 in the rehabilitation of heritage area, being co-founder and managing partner of NCREP. In this period he participated in various projects involving the inspection, diagnosis, structural analysis and design of rehabilitation solutions and strengthening of old buildings.

As a result of the work carried out, has several publications in the area of inspection and reinforcement of old timber structures, having participated as invited teacher and co-tutor and jury in masters theses of different universities.

Valter Lopes

Valter Lopes (Porto, 1983) obtained the Civil Engineering degree and the M.Sc. degree on Structures of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP).Works since 2006 in the rehabilitation of heritage area, being co-founder of NCREP. In this period he participated in various projects involving the inspection, diagnosis, structural analysis and design of rehabilitation solutions and strengthening of existing buildings.

Has several articles published in proceedings of congresses and magazines, in national and international level. The theme of publications focuses on inspection, diagnosis and rehabilitation/structural reinforcement of old buildings, with special relief for masonry structures and reinforced concrete. Co-oriented theses of master in Civil Engineering of FEUP, in the area of rehabilitation of existing buildings and structures.

Filipe Coelho

Filipe Coelho (Porto, 1991) obtained the Civil Engineering Graduation and M.Sc. degree on Civil Engineering Structures at Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP). Filipe carried out is internship at NCREP were he worked on rehabilitation of heritage buildings. Filipe is a part of NCREP team since is Graduation.

Raquel Varela

Raquel Varela (Porto, 1982) obtained the Civil Engineering graduation and M.Sc. degree on Civil Engineering Structures at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP). She worked as structural designer at Iperforma until 2016 and currently is a part of the NCREP team.
